Sold Out: 50th Annual Debutante Cotillion & Scholarship Ball to Celebrate Half a Century of Excellence

Fayetteville, NC — June 8, 2025 — The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Zeta Pi Omega Chapter in association with the Fayetteville Area Cultural & Educational Foundation (FACEF), Incorporated, is proud to host its 50th Debutante Cotillion & Scholarship Ball on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Crown Agri-Expo Center in the Crown Complex.

This milestone celebration, themed “Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence, Elegance and Exquisiteness: The Legacy Continues,” is a sold-out affair, marking a golden anniversary of tradition, sisterhood and empowerment. This year, nine remarkable young women will be presented to society, carrying forward a legacy shaped by five decades of grace, leadership and community service.

“We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate 50 years of our Cotillion tradition,” said Dr. Naadiya Hopkins, president of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Zeta Pi Omega Chapter. “This year’s celebration is not only about our new class of Debutantes but also a heartfelt reunion of former Debutantes who helped shape the legacy we honor today. It will be a night to remember and a community moment to cherish.”

Since its inception, the Debutante Cotillion has awarded over $400,000 in scholarships and has remained a cornerstone program supporting young women in cultural, personal and academic growth.

In the months leading up to the Ball, the Debutantes engaged in a series of development workshops focused on leadership, etiquette, public speaking, and ballroom dancing — each designed to build confidence and poise. As part of their commitment to service, the young ladies also volunteered with Fayetteville Urban Ministry, gaining hands-on experience in giving back to their community.

This year’s celebration is not only a continuation of tradition, but a reflection of its lasting impact — with alumnae debutantes returning to celebrate this extraordinary 50-year journey.
