Introducing Our Event Performer: Dextorist Timmons, “Violin Wizard”
Dextorist Timmons, better known as the “Violin Wizard,” is a 29-year-old improvisational violinist hailing from Fayetteville, NC. Timmons’ musical journey began at just 8 years old in a local elementary school, and by middle school, he had already discovered his exceptional ear for music. He gained international recognition during his senior year of high school when a video titled “I Just Want You to Listen”, shot by the Fayetteville Observer, went viral. In just two days, the video reached millions, including the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.
Timmons briefly attended Elizabeth City State University, where he served as concertmaster of the ECSU Comm. Orchestra, honing his skills under the guidance of Dennis Kratznakutski. With over 13 years of experience, Timmons has mastered a wide variety of genres, from Hip Hop and R&B to Classical, Country, Gospel, and even Dubstep. He can read sheet music and play by ear, often picking up melodies in as little as 10 seconds.
With a vision to impact 30 million people through his music, Dextorist Timmons is well on his way, having already achieved major accomplishments such as features in WRAL Fox50’s Spiritual Awakening and CityView Magazine, as well as being named Fayetteville Youth of the Year (2015-2016).
