Following all of the controversy surrounding the Market House in Fayetteville NC, Mayor Mitch Colvin is said to be set to make a proposal to remove the Market House from the city seal this Monday June 29th. This will be brought before council and could mean a victory for many Fayetteville residents of all races who now feel it is time for change. Seeing as the Market House in Fayetteville sold African Americans as slaves going back to the early 1800’s, citizens feel that this building shouldn’t represent Fayetteville anymore. Citizens recently gathered outside of city hall to demand the building be torn down. Let’s see what happens!
