City to host second COVID-19 Relief Food Drive

(Fayetteville, N.C.) – City of Fayetteville leaders and staff will host a second COVID-19 Relief Food Drive on Saturday, September 26. Donations will be collected from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church on Raeford Road. Recommended food donations are listed below. Donations will go to a local food bank for distribution.

Members of the City Council’s Homeless and Poverty Recovery Committee attended the first COVID-19 Relief Food Drive in July. “We look forward to another success. At the first event, a teen showed up with donations after messaging neighbors. Some people donated money to the cause. Our community responds to the call for help.  Please spread the word and give what you can to those who need help feeding themselves or loved ones,” Council Member Larry O. Wright, Sr. said.

Canned fruits & veggies

Canned meat

Canned beans & soup

Cereal

Whole grain pasta & rice

Peanut Butter

Granola Bars

Crackers

Juice Boxes

Infant Cereal

*No glass items please
