Recreation centers offer cool spaces on hot days
(Fayetteville, N.C.) – People who need to escape the heat can enter Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation (FCPR) centers. According to the National Weather Service, heat index values may reach 105 or above today. High temperatures are also expected tomorrow and throughout the week.
The 18 FCPR recreation centers are open to the public, year-round, during normal operating hours and can be used by residents as a respite from the heat. Recreation center locations, hours, contacts and programming schedules are posted online.
Additional cooling stations are available at Cumberland County facilities, more information about locations and hours of operation will be available online.
