I started going to Eva’s Nail Bar after noticing it near one of my favorite bakeries, Burney’s on Raeford Road. I had heard they recently opened and wanted to give them a try. My first couple of visits were great, but on my third visit, I finally had the pleasure of meeting Eva herself. She greeted me with the warmest smile, made me feel right at home and took time to update me on her vision for the salon.
As she worked on my nails with so much care, Eva shared her story. She came to the United States in 2012 as a single mother from Vietnam with a young son. She didn’t have money, credit or even a car, but she had a dream and the determination to make it happen. Over 13 years she perfected her craft, working in other salons and eventually renting her own booth. She met her husband, Jerry Pi, a retired veteran who believed in her vision and helped her bring it to life. Together, they turned an old car wash into the beautiful 5,500 square foot salon that is now Eva’s Nail Bar, which opened in October 2024.
Eva’s heart for people and her belief in building up those around her are what make this place so special. She trains her nail techs and staff to grow with the business, teaching them not just about nails but about professionalism, customer care and what it means to succeed as a team. She believes in longevity and lifting as she climbs, proving that success is possible even when you start with nothing.
What touched me most was hearing how a pastor came to pray over her business before opening, asking for the customer support and employees she needed. That blessing clearly came through. Eva is grateful for every single client who shares their experience and spreads the word about her salon.

Walking into Eva’s Nail Bar feels like entering a peaceful, welcoming space where excellence meets comfort. You get quality service without the long waits, and yes, there are drinks, snacks and even wine with your pedicure.
Eva says it best herself: “The hardest part is when you have a dream and you don’t know where to start. You have to do the right things business wise, pay taxes, get your permits, take risks and hope that what you’re ordering online actually shows up on time and as expected. I’m thankful for everyone who supports me.”
Her journey is a testament to faith, resilience and community support. Eva’s Nail Bar isn’t just a salon. It’s proof that with vision, hard work and the right people around you, anything is possible.
I’m excited to share that my nonprofit, L3 Brand Community Alliance, will be partnering with Eva’s Nail Bar for some amazing youth and community initiatives soon. Stay tuned for more details, because we have big things coming.
