Citywide mask requirement begins Friday
Official statement from the City of Fayetteville “(Fayetteville, N.C.) – Today, Mayor Mitch Colvin issued an amended State of Emergency for the City of Fayetteville. The update is due to rapid and prevalent spread of the COVID Delta variant. The new declaration takes effect Friday, August 20 at 5 p.m. It will remain in effect until it is modified or rescinded.
The amended State of Emergency includes the following requirements and guidance:
- If you are within Fayetteville city limits, wear a face covering any time you are in contact with someone who is not a household member. This applies to public and private indoor spaces. Exceptions are listed in the Proclamation linked below.
- Wear face coverings outdoors when social distancing is not possible.
